Care Giver Training

At Top Home Care OC, we ensure every caregiver is properly trained, certified, and equipped to provide safe, compassionate, and professional care. Here’s an overview of the required training:

Initial & Ongoing Training

• 5 Hours Entry-Level Training before any client assignment:

  • 2 Hours Orientation: Roles, responsibilities, company policies.
  • 3 Hours Safety: Home safety, emergency response, infection control.

• 5 Hours Annual Training to cover:

  • Client rights & safety
  • Daily living assistance
  • Abuse prevention & reporting
  • Personal care & hygiene
  • Safe transportation (if applicable)

Specialized Training

All caregivers also receive additional training in:

• Hospice, home health, and palliative care
• Medication reminders vs. administration
• Proper lifting & transfer techniques
• Bedside manner & cultural sensitivity
• CPR, First Aid, Sexual Harassment & LGBTQ+ Awareness

Training Records & Compliance

• Proof of training is documented through signed logs or online modules.
• Records are securely kept in the employee file.
• Caregivers must stay compliant or may face suspension of assignments.

Ongoing Education

• Additional training is provided when:

  • State or company procedures change
  • New equipment is introduced
  • Retraining is recommended based on feedback
